This Privacy Policy does not modify or diminish any confidentiality obligation that applies to an established attorney-client relationship.
Information received from a client in connection with legal representation may be subject to the attorney-client privilege, attorney work-product protections, professional rules of confidentiality, court orders, contractual obligations, or other legal protections.
Those protections are separate from, and may be more extensive than, the protections described in this general Website Privacy Policy.
4. PROSPECTIVE CLIENT INFORMATION

Prospective clients should provide only information reasonably necessary for KRPJ to understand the general nature of an inquiry and determine whether a consultation may be appropriate.
You should not send highly sensitive, confidential, or privileged material through a general Website contact form unless an attorney or authorized staff member has instructed you to do so.
Additional information regarding communications with prospective clients is contained in our Terms of Use.
5. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
The Website and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, local-storage technologies, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the Website and understand how it is used.
These technologies may be used to:
- Maintain Website functionality;
- Remember Website or consent preferences;
- Improve Website performance;
- Detect security threats;
- Measure Website traffic;
- Understand which pages visitors use;

You may be able to limit or disable cookies using your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Website functionality.
If a cookie-management or consent tool is presented on the Website, you may also use that tool to manage available preferences.
6. ANALYTICS AND THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE SERVICES
KRPJ may use third-party providers to host, maintain, secure, measure, or improve the Website.
These providers may process technical or personal information on our behalf. Depending upon the Website configuration, third-party services may include website hosting, analytics, security, form processing, client portal, email, mapping, accessibility, or other technology providers.
Third-party providers operate subject to their own contractual and privacy obligations.
7. HOW WE MAY DISCLOSE INFORMATION
We do not disclose personal information merely because someone visits our Website.
We may, however, disclose information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We may provide information to vendors, contractors, and technology providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, cybersecurity, Website administration, analytics, email, communications, client portal, or data-storage services.

When you become a client, information may be disclosed as reasonably necessary to provide legal services and consistent with applicable law and professional obligations. This may include disclosures to courts, opposing counsel, experts, investigators, consultants, vendors, government agencies, witnesses, insurers, or other persons involved in a legal matter.
Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law;
- Respond to a subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful process;
- Satisfy professional-responsibility requirements;

Any disclosure involving client information remains subject to applicable professional and legal obligations.
Business or Organizational Changes
Information associated with Website operations may be transferred as part of a merger, restructuring, reorganization, change in service provider, or similar transaction, subject to applicable confidentiality and professional obligations.
8. SALE AND TARGETED ADVERTISING
KRPJ does not intend to operate its Website as a business for the sale of personal information.
If KRPJ engages in activities that constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” or use of personal information for targeted advertising under an applicable privacy law, KRPJ will provide any notices and choices required by that law.
Ordinary disclosure of information to service providers acting on KRPJ's behalf is not treated as a sale where applicable law provides otherwise.
9. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:
- Responding to inquiries;
- Evaluating potential representation;
- Performing conflicts checks;
- Providing legal services;
- Maintaining business and professional records;

Retention periods may vary depending upon the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
Client files and information associated with legal representation may be retained according to separate file-retention policies, engagement agreements, court requirements, or professional-responsibility obligations.
10. INFORMATION SECURITY
KRPJ takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, misuse, or disclosure.
However, no Internet transmission, email system, Website, cloud service, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
For that reason, highly sensitive information should not be transmitted through the Website's general contact form.
Current clients should use secure communication methods provided or approved by their attorney when transmitting sensitive information.
11. DATA BREACHES AND SECURITY INCIDENTS
If KRPJ becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, KRPJ will investigate and respond in accordance with applicable law and professional obligations.
Where legally required, affected individuals and appropriate governmental authorities will be notified in the manner and within the time required by applicable law.

These rights are subject to applicable statutory exceptions, including exceptions and limitations involving legal services, privileged information, information maintained for litigation, professional obligations, security, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, or other lawful purposes.
KRPJ may voluntarily honor a reasonable privacy request even when a particular privacy statute does not legally require it.
13. INDIANA RESIDENTS
The Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, Ind. Code § 24-15-1-1 et seq., became effective January 1, 2026.
The Act applies only to businesses meeting specified statutory requirements and contains exemptions and exceptions. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended as a representation that the Act necessarily applies to KRPJ.
To the extent the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act applies to a particular request, eligible Indiana consumers may have rights provided by that law, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, and certain opt-out choices.
KRPJ will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.

Authorized-agent requests will be honored where required by applicable law and where appropriate authority can be verified.
15. EXCEPTIONS TO PRIVACY REQUESTS
Even when a person has a statutory privacy right, KRPJ may be unable or not required to grant a request when retaining or processing the information is reasonably necessary to:

The public Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under 13.
KRPJ does not knowingly use the public Website to solicit personal information directly from children under 13 without authorization where required by law.
This provision does not prevent KRPJ from receiving or maintaining information concerning minors when necessary for legal representation, including family-law, juvenile, criminal, civil-rights, personal-injury, immigration, guardianship, or other legal matters.
17. EMAIL AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
If you communicate with KRPJ by email, you understand that ordinary email may not provide the same security protections as a secure client portal or encrypted communication system.
KRPJ may retain emails and other electronic communications as part of its business, conflicts, or client records.
For current clients, the appropriate method for sending particularly sensitive information should be discussed with the attorney handling the matter.
18. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The Website may contain links to third-party websites or services.
KRPJ is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of an independent third party. When you leave our Website, you should review the privacy policy of the website or service you are using.
19. DO NOT TRACK AND GLOBAL PRIVACY SIGNALS
Some web browsers or devices permit users to transmit “Do Not Track,” Global Privacy Control, or similar preference signals.
Website technologies do not always respond uniformly to these signals. KRPJ will recognize legally required browser-based opt-out preference signals to the extent applicable law requires such recognition and the Website technology in use permits us to identify the signal.
20. USERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES
The Website is operated from the United States.
If you access the Website from outside the United States, information you submit may be transferred to, processed in, or stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy represents that KRPJ offers legal services in every country or jurisdiction from which the Website may be accessed.
21. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our Website, technology, business practices, or applicable laws change.
